If you’d like to find the most famous Finnish design brands, such as Marimekko<\/a><\/em>,\u00a0Iittala<\/a> or Aarikka<\/a>,\u00a0<\/em>their stores are located in the city center on Pohjoisesplanadi<\/em> street. On the same street it’s easy to\u00a0spot many other Finnish brands,\u00a0as well as\u00a0the luxurious international ones, such as Louis Vuitton<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Marimekko<\/em> has also a store in Forum Shopping Center, <\/em>as well as an outlet store in Herttoniemi<\/em>, which is outside of the city center, however there’s an easy\u00a0access to the store by metro\u00a0(address: Kirvesmiehenkatu 7, Helsinki, Metrostop: Herttoniemi). The outlet store is open every day, except on Sundays. This outlet store is very popular especially amongst Asian tourists.<\/p>\n

Alvar Aalto<\/em> design can be found in the store called Artek<\/a>,<\/em>\u00a0next to the Stockmann<\/em> department store, on Keskuskatu<\/em>. \u00a0You can also visit an interesting and unique store called Artek 2nd Cycle<\/a><\/em>,\u00a0on Pieni Roobertinkatu. <\/em>In addition to Alvar Aalto<\/em> design, <\/em>the products in this boutique include items by such classic designers as Ilmari Tapiovaara <\/em>and Yrj\u00f6 Kukkapuro.<\/em><\/p>\n

Aleksanterinkatu<\/em> street is full of nice shops, too. In the big department store, Stockmann<\/em>, you can find a great selection of Finnish brands as well as the international ones. When you walk the street towards the Market square, you’ll find a funky shoe store,\u00a0Minna Parikka Shoes<\/a>. <\/em>Many famous stars, including\u00a0Lady Gaga,\u00a0have fallen in love with Minna’s playful shoes.<\/p>\n

The Moomin Shop<\/em> can be found in the Forum Shopping Center, <\/em>in the heart of Helsinki, as well. There’s a Moomin Shop also at the Helsinki Airport. Check all the shops at the Moomin store locator<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n

Within walking distance from the city center, you can find\u00a0a so called “Helsinki Design District”<\/em>\u00a0in Punavuor<\/em>i area where you can\u00a0shop in\u00a0various smaller Finnish boutiques. One of them is called\u00a0Ivana Helsinki<\/a><\/em>, also seen in New York Fashion Week<\/em>. Check all the stores and happenings on the Design District\u00a0website<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n
